Social Skills
The games are all designed to be played with a partner learning to take turns. Children should be encouraged to vary the rules provided they are agreed on and adhered to throughout the game.

Problem Solving Skills
Children should be provided with opportunities to come the realisation that multiplication is repeated addition. They should be provided with opportunities to discover the commutative law of multiplication using different equipment. Good use of prediction skills in games 3 & 5 will increase the chance of being the winner.

Numeracy Skills
These games are intended to assist children in understanding the concept of multiplication. To solve multiplication by 5 children are initially encouraged to use skip counting. (Games 1 & 2). With the additional knowledge of the commutative law of multiplication (3 x 5 = 5 x 3) the number of multiples to remember is halved. (Games 3 - 5)

Oral Language
Children should be encouraged to verbalise their thinking as they play the games to help them formulate the thinking process. Listening to others explaining their thinking helps the listener to consolidate their own thinking.
